Creating a Portable ID

Find out how to create your Portable ID on PlayStation®Network.

The Portable ID is your calling card for PlayStation Network, comprising your favourite game, favourite format and your current mood amongst other things.

Follow this step-by-step guide to find out how to set one up.

1. Visit

Sign in to PlayStation Network on your PC. If you are signing up to PlayStation for the first time, you can create a new account in a pop-up window. Once you have completed the process, you can close the window and sign in to PlayStation Network straight away.

2. Select the My Portable ID tab

3. Select your preferences

Go to Set your preferences to update your current mood and favourite game, You can also choose whether you want to display trophy information on your Portable ID or not.

4. Select your Portable ID theme

Check out the full range of Portable ID themes. If you are a PlayStation Plus member, you can choose one of the exclusive designs available. Once selected, press the Update button to preview your Portable ID.

That's it. You can update your Portable ID as often as you like and we will be adding more options over time so make sure to check back for the latest developments.

Once you have created your Portable ID, you can display it on a number of websites online by using the codes provided. Use the HTML code on the official PlayStation Forums by editing your signature field, and the BB code for any other community site.
