Be the driver
The thrill, excitement and luxury lifestyle of FORMULA ONE racing roars back onto PlayStation 3 in F1 2011. The slickest cars, picturesque tracks and thrilling races have returned, along with new circuits, more drivers and an enhanced focus on the exciting multiplayer mode.
Head to the paddock and start living the life in the Career Mode. In the driver's room you'll be able to check your emails for contract offers, read messages from your agent and review weather forecasts, so you know what to expect on the track. Keep up with the latest news and read up on the circuits you'll be visiting.
Once you're prepped, check the Race Calendar and head to the track. Travel to countries all over the world to show off your driving skills including Turkey, Japan and Canada, and even test your tyres on two brand new circuits - Buddh International Circuit in India and Nurburgring, Germany.
When you're ready for the Grand Prix, choose your team - you'll be spoilt for choice with big names such as Team Lotus, Red Bull Racing and Force India on the list - and design your own tournament. The race distance, weather and the tracks are totally up to you, so create a real challenge and take on world-class opponents such as Mark Webber, Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.
Before each race, make sure you consult with the engineers and assess your car set-up. The right tyres make all the difference, so pick the best ones for the track and weather before you put the pedal to the metal.
The tag line of F1 2011 has been extended this year - players are now encouraged to "go compete" - and with a wide range of competitive and co-operative multiplayer modes, there's no better excuse to put your foot down on the track.
Offline, you can get your mates round for some two player split screen sessions - it's always great to see your opponent's face when you speed over the finish line first.
Online, you can play a variety of multiplayer modes via PlayStation Network, which you'll need a VIP Pass to access. You'll find your VIP Pass in your F1 2011 box, or you can purchase it from PlayStation Store. Once you're online, take on up to 15 other players and burn around the picturesque tracks with people who love racing as much as you do. Players are ranked on their ability and given different objectives to ensure the online leader boards aren't filled with experts and everyone can enjoy a fair race.
If you're playing with a friend, why not team up and work together to win championships for teams like Mercedes GP, Lotus-Renault and McLaren?
