A triple TEKKEN treat

Presentation

A triple TEKKEN treat

Ready yourself for the ultimate TEKKEN experience on PlayStation 3 with TEKKEN Hybrid. The Blu-ray Disc comes packed with bonus goodies for all TEKKEN fans, including TEKKEN Tag Tournament, the exclusive prologue to TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2, and TEKKEN Blood Vengeance, an action-packed, stereoscopic 3D computer generated movie.

TEKKEN Tag Tournament has been given a brand new lease of life thanks to a High Definition remastering, and the addition of PlayStation Network trophy support. That means you'll not only be able to experience one of best brawlers in PlayStation 2 history, but you'll also see your PlayStation 3 trophy cabinet grow. When you're done, power up TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2 from the main menu and get a taste of the action arriving on PlayStation 3 in 2012.

Once you have mastered the King of Iron Fist tournament, you can then sit back and watch TEKKEN Blood Vengeance, which follows TEKKEN favourite, Ling Xiaoyu, on the hunt for missing student Shin Kamiya - the sole survivor of a twisted experiment to unlock the secrets of eternal youth.

Gameplay

Double trouble

If you have previously played any of the TEKKEN games then you'll know what to expect when taking on the challenge of rising to the top in TEKKEN Tag Tournament. If not, don't worry because TEKKEN is a hugely accessible fighting game that caters for everyone.

If you're unfamiliar with the series then it's a good idea to spend a little time in Practice Mode, which can be accessed via the game's main menu. Here you learn the basics in a short space of time, which should help you on your way to winning your first fight. From there, you can simply perfect your skills in the ring and master some of the game's more difficult special moves and killer combos.

The biggest difference between TEKKEN Tag Tournament and any other TEKKEN game is the addition of the tag battle system, which allows you to switch between fighters in the middle of a brawl by pressing the L1 or R1 buttons on your wireless controller. It's perfect for mixing up fighting styles and unleashing deadly juggling attacks, tag throws and even diving and sliding attacks that can wipe an opponent out in style. There are over 24 characters to get to grips with in the game, so experiment and see which two champions suit your type of playing style.

If you have a spare wireless controller then grab a friend and challenge them to a battle to the end in TEKKEN Tag Tournament's Versus mode. Once you've perfected your skills in the single player campaign and claimed the King of Iron Fist tournament champion's crown get ready to grapple in several other modes, including Team Battle, Time Attack and Survival mode.

In Team Battle, you can create a team of up to eight fighters and battle for glory against computer controlled opponents or a friend. In Time Attack, you only have a certain amount of time on the clock to defeat a foe, otherwise you fail the challenge. Survival mode, on the other hand, challenges you to fight for as long as you possibly can without replenishing your health bar at the end of a brawl. Once it reaches zero, so do your chances of glory.

Tired of fighting? Need a break from taking a beating? Then don't forget to check out the fun mini-game, TEKKEN Bowl. It's a great game to play with a friend or on your own using any of the characters you'll find on the game's roster.
