Konami unmasks the Belmont Clan in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Konami has confirmed that the Belmont family - the stalwart heroes of the long-running series - will play a part in the new game.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is under the wing of Konami's fast-growing European Product Planning department, and marks a new beginning for the Castlevania series, with Madrid-based developer Mercury Steam working closely with Konami's respected Kojima Productions studio, led by Hideo Kojima.

Konami and Def Jam Bring da Noise

Konami has announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Autumn Games, 4mm Games and Def Jam Interactive for the upcoming music videogame Def Jam Rapstar available for PlayStation®3 later this year.

Developed by 4mm Games, Terminal Reality and Def Jam Interactive, Def Jam Rapstar is the first true interactive Hip Hop music game experience. It's the only music game that focuses exclusively on Hip Hop. With a track list boasting over 40 of the greatest Hip Hop songs around including the likes of 2 Pac, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and the Wu Tang Clan, Def Jam Rapstar makes you the Hip Hop star.

Konami secures the Copa Libertadores license

Konami has secured the license to exclusively reproduce South America's most prominent and esteemed soccer club tournament, the Copa Santander Libertadores. The deal will allow Konami to integrate all components of the Copa Santander Libertadores Club Competition including their all-star teams and players into the Pro Evolution Soccer Series.

With the addition of Copa Santander Libertadores into Pro Evolution Soccer's lineup of licenses, Konami now possesses two of the most powerful soccer tournaments in the world, Copa Santander Libertadores and UEFA Champions League.

Jigsaw Returns

Konami also announced it will release a sequel to its popular SAW title for PlayStation®3 later this year.

Developed by Zombie Studios, SAW II invites players back into Jigsaw's twisted world and promises all-new stomach-twisting traps and puzzles, more visceral combat and an all-new storyline that takes place between the second and third movie. As such, players can delve deeper into the horror and mystery of Jigsaw's terrified subjects.
