What It's Like To Play

Star light, star bright

Presentation

Star light, star bright

Dazzling you from the very start, Super Stardust Delta on PlayStation Vita is an impressive sight. Your first voyage into this exciting unexplored cosmos starts on the interactive main menu as you tilt your PS Vita system in any direction to look at the surrounding stars and suns on the screen. It's a wonderfully natural way to introduce you to a game which uses many of the PS Vita system's unique features.

From the touchscreen enabled menu you're presented with the option to play either the two main game modes or five different mini-games. No matter what you choose, each comes with online ranking leader boards to see who's on top of the world. You can also check out all the statistics of your gameplay to date, such as ships lost, games played in total and how many enemies you've destroyed.

If you think Super Stardust Delta's introduction to its variety of features is exciting, wait until you see the game itself. The fast paced, upbeat music draws you into a galaxy of detailed spaceships, brightly coloured laser fire and eye-popping explosions. The graphics spark to life on the PS Vita system's incredible screen with sharp, multicoloured carnage. Super Stardust Delta is a great showpiece for this portable powerhouse.

The fate of galaxies is in your hands

Gameplay

The fate of galaxies is in your hands

Super Stardust Delta on PlayStation Vita brings you all the thrills of an adrenaline pumping shoot 'em up with fantastic easy to learn controls to transport you to another dimension of addictive arcade gameplay.

It doesn't matter if you're a sharp shooter from Super Stardust HD on PlayStation 3 or Super Stardust Portable on PSP, Super Stardust Delta welcomes all comers willing to fight for the safety of five defenceless planets. With a choice of three skill levels, your task is to use your lone spacecraft to destroy all the incoming asteroids, aliens and other dangers.

This tricky job requires quick thinking and even quicker reflexes - some asteroids and enemies can only be dispatched by shooting certain exposed areas or using a particular weapon. Luckily, you have a few star weapons up your sleeve. Temporary boosts can quickly get you out of a fix with a shot of speed, while smart bombs, missiles and black holes are in limited supply to help clear the screen of stubborn foes.

Super Stardust Delta's slick gameplay makes great use of the PS Vita system's excellent control options. Use the left stick to move and right stick to shoot, shake the system to activate an EMP Bomb, tap the touchscreen to fire missiles and use the rear touch pad to activate a black hole. Mix things up by re-mapping the controls to tailor your game and get the edge.

If you want to take a break from defending planets and climbing the global online leader boards you can also enjoy a variety of mini-games which make use of the PS Vita system's unique touch and tilt controls. From squashing asteroids using the rear touch pad and touchscreen simultaneously in Crush, to tilting the system to aim your shots in Orbit Bomber, there's plenty to keep you blasting.

The more you play Super Stardust Delta, the more you unlock, making it a game that grows with your skills. Its short, sharp gameplay is ideal for quick fun on the go. Stunning galaxy spanning combat has never been so immediate - or portable.
