Make your trip to Columbia an explosive one with this guide from the team at Irrational Games.
Booker DeWitt is a man who owes favours, and to wipe his slate clean, he's tasked with rescuing a young woman named Elizabeth. Sounds straightforward enough, until you realise that Elizabeth is imprisoned in the semi-mythical floating city of Columbia. What's more, a terrifying mechanical jailer known as Songbird watches over her.
It sounds like you'll need some inside information to fight your way through this city in the clouds. Luckily, you can get some expert tourism advice from the architects of Columbia, Irrational Games.
Possession is a very powerful tool, so be sure to upgrade it early and use it to force humans to fight for you. This distracts any other foes in the area and also rids you of the enemy that you possessed - they cease to exist when the effect wears off.
Put Vigor traps on the ground and walls, and lure foes into them by backtracking and holding a position behind them.
Pair your Vigor abilities up for greater impact. Devil's Kiss paired with Possession turns one of your foes into a walking firestorm, spreading flames onto all of your immediate enemies.
A bird in the hand
Use the "Murder of Crows" Vigor against close-combat enemies. This Vigor slows them down and distracts them, so you can punish them from a safe distance.
Scavenge for success
Always check searchable containers for valuable goods that will restore your Salts and Health levels.
Make sure that at least one of your weapons has a large ammo supply, or that it is a weapon that is often dropped by foes. This is the best way to make sure that you don't run out of ammo at crucial moments.
Monitor the madness
Don't always move straight into a fight. Some battles feature warring factions that will eliminate each other, so you can wait until they thin each other out before you engage what is left of them.
Honour in retreat
If you are overwhelmed by enemies, do not be afraid to run away, recharge your shield, regroup, and resupply. Playing carefully will lead to less frustration in the long run.
Everything in its place
Remember where you drop a needed weapon, so you can go back and get it later.
You can move across a battlefield quickly by using the Sky-Lines, even if you only jump on to them for a moment.
