Videogame industry experts tell PlayStation.com their PlayStation highlights of 2010.

"The highlight of 2010 has to be the launch of PlayStation Move. In addition to being an instant consumer hit, it has the potential to dramatically change the way we play all kinds of games." Andrew House, president, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe

"The launch of PlayStation Move: the final PS Move system offers a great solution for all kinds of games. Another highlight was the launch of stereoscopic 3D games on PS3. On the title front, we had big releases like God of War III, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, MAG and ModNation Racers, all of which showed our commitment to producing the highest possible quality and imaginative games." Shuhei Yoshida, president, SCE Worldwide Studios

"A big highlight has to be the success of Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream had a huge ambition for this title and I'm so proud of them and what they've achieved. The team created a fantastic, unique and original experience, creating a new genre, with emotional, story and character driven gameplay. My other highlight has to be the launch of PlayStation Move and finally getting the controller into people's hands. I'm really pleased not only with the variety in the launch line-up, but also with some of the deep and rich experiences we have to look forward to next year." Michael Denny, senior vice president, SCE Worldwide Studios, Europe

"My favourite game overall was a close call between Just Cause 2 and Heavy Rain, with the action-packed Just Cause 2 just winning. The sheer amount of action and satisfaction gained from taking over areas meant I lost over 100 hours of my life to that game." Jason Ried, producer, Split/Second: Velocity

"2010 gave us one of the biggest, most ambitious, memorable, moving and accomplished games of all time in Red Dead Redemption. If this was a movie it might have ended with John and his family on the ranch, but like many games it steals from movies to deliver something infinitely better. You get to play the happy ever after, and then discover that... well, I won't spoil it." Matt Southern, game director, Evolution Studios

"2010 was an incredible year in terms of game quality and innovation! I was particularly impressed with Heavy Rain, God of War III and PlayStation Move. These brought gaming to the next level." Julien Ramette, product manager, NAMCO BANDAI Partners

"I've been spending most of my time getting whupped online with Battlefield: Bad Company 2. However, for the overall experience, superb graphics and magnificent orchestral score, my vote has to go to God of War III on PS3. The scale of the battles was jaw-dropping, and when you work in this industry it has to take something special for you to go wow. God of War III is that game!" John McLaughlin, producer, XDev Studio Liverpool

"Heavy Rain was an incredible experience [and] offered brilliant sequences like no other games around. Whether it was about searching for your son in a crowd or escaping mysterious intruders in your loft in the middle of the night, I could barely keep up with the game because I was literally projecting myself into those situations." Jean Francois Dugas, game director, Eidos Montreal

"My biggest highlight of 2010 was PlayStation Move. I realised that videogames have shifted to the next generation because many PlayStation Move compatible games are enjoyable to play with my family, wife and child, and with High Definition quality too." Norihiro Nishimura, producer, Time Crisis: Razing Storm

"This past year really centred around PlayStation Move. It was great to take part in the combined promotion of PS Move and SOCOM: Special Forces and demonstrate the two together at several big events. People came away very excited and, I think, a little surprised by just how well the PS Move works for a serious shooter." Travis Steiner, lead designer, Zipper Interactive

"PlayStation Move, hands down. Having spent the past six months in its company, I'm completely sold. It's so much better than any similar device on the market, and the quality of software reminds me of the EyeToy's heyday." Simon "Barlos" Barlow, associate game director, Evolution Studios

"It would be God of War III. Undeniably the highest quality visuals on PlayStation 3." Kazutoki Kono, producer, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

"God of War III: the whole presentation and the action is just fantastic. Although I was quite busy, I made time to complete this game. From a production point of view, the way this game is presented is a very good reference for developers." Ryota Niitsuma, producer, Marvel vs Capcom

"Gran Turismo 5. What Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital have delivered is nothing short of a masterpiece; the driving physics feel just right, and the amount of content in the game is absolutely incredible. It has to be the most complete racing game I've ever played." Hermen Hulst, managing director, Guerrilla

"Heavy Rain stands out – a real interactive story that wasn't afraid to experiment. A story that felt like it had come first in the design, and a control method that was different but worked, I loved the pacing and the dialogue. Having said that, EyePet is still a favourite in our house and now with the PS Move motion controller it gets a showing every time we have guests." Tim Heaton, studio director, The Creative Assembly

"My PlayStation highlight of 2010 was undoubtedly God of War III. I love the series, and this one certainly did not disappoint. Not only was it truly epic in terms of scale, but Kratos was even more brutal than before and it had some truly stunning boss battles. All of which combined to make for the best God of War game to date in my opinion." Paul Rustchynsky, senior designer, Evolution Studios

"My 2010 highlight has to be God of War III; the graphical fidelity even now is still astonishing. The storyline was compelling and the gameplay was equally smooth and effortless – for me Kratos is the jewel in the PS3 crown!" Karl Reader, UK product and community manager, CAPCOM

"My highlights of 2010 were being in the top 10 in the leaderboard for PixelJunk Shooter for a while at the start of the year, playing Valkyria Chronicles II on PSP for far too many hours, and the launch of Gran Turismo 5." Miles Jacobson, studio director, Sports Interactive
