What It's Like To Play

Update everyone

Skype on your PS Vita is simple to use - everything you need to get around is on four tabs on the right hand side of the screen. The first tab opens your profile page where you can edit your status. Your contacts will be able to see if you're online or not by checking your status, which also appears as a symbol above your profile picture. You can also see how much Skype Credit you have and change other settings.

The second tab is where you can find all of your contacts and see their profile information by tapping on their picture. Once you've opened their profile, you can choose to call them.

All of your recent activity can be seen in the third tab, which keeps a record of who you've been speaking to and how long the call lasted.

Finally, you can make calls to mobiles and landlines in the bottom tab. Tap it to enter anyone's number - remember you'll need Skype Credit to make calls to these numbers. You can add credit to your Skype account by signing in on your computer or another Skype compatible device.

Never miss a call

Once you've downloaded Skype from PlayStation Store for free to your PS Vita, you can contact your friends and family, no matter where they are, as long as they're signed in on Skype too. It's easy to use - just tap on a contact to bring up the menu and give them a call.

Make sure you're always signed in to Skype on your PS Vita so contacts can reach you wherever you are. Even when you're in the middle of a game or browsing the web, you can still choose to receive calls on Skype. Don't worry about being interrupted though, as PS Vita games will automatically pause and you can pick up where you left off when you've finished your call. Alternatively, if you don't fancy stopping your game, simply ignore the notification and carry on playing as normal.

You can get in touch with your contacts for free from your PS Vita if they're using Skype on another PS Vita, a PC or smartphone. There is even a fantastic range of Skype-ready Sony TVs available, so the whole family can join in the call from their living room. If you want to reach someone on their mobile or landline, even if they're abroad, just add credit to your Skype account and enjoy low-cost calls at any time, wherever you are.

Skype for PlayStation Vita is the perfect way to stay in touch with your friends and family all over the world. Download Skype for free from PlayStation Store, and start chatting with your friends and other gamers in just a few short minutes.

To get started, you'll need a Skype account. You can create an account from your computer or another Skype-ready device. If you have an existing Skype account, simply sign in and all your Skype contacts will be available on your PS Vita, so you can start a conversation quickly and easily.

When you sign into Skype on your PS Vita, the first thing you'll see is your contacts list. Check out who's online and tap their picture to view their profile. Select 'Call' if you want to talk to them, or 'Video Call' if you want to use your PS Vita system's front and rear cameras while you chat.

Use your PS Vita to speak to others on Skype, whether they're on another PS Vita, computer, mobile phone, or even TV. When you're in a video call, you can even give someone a tour of where you are by switching between the front and rear cameras using the PS Vita system's touchscreen.
